How to install a HP Laserjet 3015 on win10 wireless lan?

The question means how to install it on a new computer on the lan.

The printer is already usb connected to a computer on the wireless lan and all is working well.

four computers on the lan can see it and do use it.

this new computer can see it in windows explorer but windows cannot install it - complaining that some drivers are missing even though it itself is supposed to be finding, downloading and installing the drivers.

and none of the HP stuff can see it.

I wonder if the windows attempt screwed things up for the HP stuff? Is there some configuration I should/could do to rectify that? Or what?

Rather than simply allowing Windows to try setting it up, I find that the actual full drivers from the manufacturer often provide far better results for printers. Have you tried downloading and installing the HP driver to see if that works better?

You can download it from here:

thanks for that. I"ve been there once and haven't done any good as yet.
have you any advice as to which of the selection they offer I should use?
we have win10 64bit on all computers and the printer is usb connected to one computer on the lan but not to the computer we're dealing with right now.

I agree with hsehestedt but did mine a bit differently. I have an HP LaserJet M148 and an HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 connected by Ethernet to my Router. Any computer I install the software on can use the printers whether they are connected to Router by Wired or Wireless/Wi-Fi. An advantage is no one computer has to be on. So far Win10 has been pretty good at finding them for the basics. Even Windows Fax and Scan finds them.

So I tried the first one because it said it was the latest. upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.0.24832 and unzipped it and went to install and it gets half way through and gives me the same complaint windows gave me - some files missing or incorrect..
any clues on that? How to install a HP Laserjet 3015 on win10 wireless lan?-screenshot-1-.png
