AMD Drivers freeze system and create loud buzzing sound

May be jumping to a conclusion, but the last Windows Optional Drivers Update ( AMD Media Drivers ) caused the system to freeze and create a loud buzzing sound. After reverting back to the last update, restore point, the issue has not resurfaced. For now, have paused all updates, which is an issue for Defender.

Can you concur or have a similar experience?

    Multiple issues with this laptop:
    - Fails to wake from sleep ( fixed after BIOS F.13 update )
    - Fails to switch back from tablet mode after a period of time. Rebooting solves it
    - Fails to autorotate, after a period of time. Rebooting solves it

    Windows 10 Build 19041
    HP ENVY x360
    BIOS F.13
    AMD Ryzen 5 4500U

    Greets,

    Welcome To TenForums!

    1. Consider making a System Image with AOMEI Backupper for precaution! ( OPTIONAL )
    (i) Basic Idea : AOMEI Backupper
(ii) Latest Information : Create a system image with AOMEI Backupper Standard / Freeware

    2. Latest drivers are not the best as far as stability is the concern! Don't change / update a driver till it is creating problem. Preferably use drivers from pc manufacturer ( hp for you ).
There is no need to change the driver as of now. Let's check other things.

    3. Check your installation for problems :
Use DISM to Repair Windows 10

    I expect you Run the command : OPTION 1 > Step 4

    Code:
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
If problem(s) is / are detected then only Run the command : OPTION 1 > Step 5

    Code:
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If the command is success, Restart the PC.

    4. Create System Information File : OPTION 1 & UPLOAD

For uploading the msinfo.nfo file, you shall need to use Google Drive, etc. OR Zip the File & UPLOAD it directly to forum.

    Thanks. ...

Installing an AMD audio driver in the optional updates appears to be the cause of the problem. Leave optional updates alone going forward.
