this is so dumb, I can't turn off my touchpad

ever since the recent update to windows 10, my laptop touchpad was turned back on and nothing I do turns it off

disabling or uninstalling in device manager does nothing. I've also tried updating them, still won't respond to being disabled and still no other options to turn it off

going into touchpad settings and mouse settings to look for something to disable it, such as the option that would turn the touchpad off when a mouse is plugged in, yields no results because the options simply aren't there anymore for me

someone please help, it's driving me nuts. I have an MSI laptop and it used to have a shortcut to turn off the touchpad too, but that's not working either

    OS Build is 18362.959

Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You might see if an option in the tutorial below may allow you to disable the touchpad.

Hi, you could try this freeware program:

Touchpad Blocker - free software to disable touch-pad while typing

Some touhpad implementations simply have no way of disabling them- like mine on this laptop.

the recent update to windows 10
    - you are using build 1903. Do you mean you recently upgraded to that build, or received some Win 10 update, or a touchpad driver update perhaps? Which update?
