I need help with my drivers

Whenever I boot up my computer and I look to see if I'm connected to the internet, most of the time I'm connected to the internet, it says "Internet access unavailable" and I forgot the command to download the drivers... I'm pretty sure it's not "DISM.exe /online /restore-drivers " IDK my WVN is Version 2004 (OS Build 20150.1000) Windows 10 Pro

You did not mention how you are connecting Wireless or Wired. My wife's PC has / had a similar issue with its wireless nic. I shut off the hibernation process and the connection at startup has been far more reliable.

So you could try same. To a Powershell(admin) or Command Prompt(admin) prompt enter

powercfg -h off

To reverse you change the word off to on.

Another action you can take, open device manager, find the network adapter, right click, click properties, clcik power management tab. In this window there is a setting to allow the computer to shut off device to save power. In some computers disabling this can make things better while in others it needs to be enabled.

Whatever state yours is in, try the opposite. So if it is already disabled, enable or if enabled try disable.

My computer doesn't have a WI-FI card in it so I'm using ethernet. And I will try the things you said. And I will need to know what powercfg -h off does, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to though.

I did powercfg -h /? and it showed me what it does.

So I tried to disable the thing, I couldn't find the correct one (My ethernet is ethernet 2 but I can't find it) (see screenshot)

Sorry I didn't make it clear that powercfg -h off shuts off hibernation.


Are you on V1909 of Win 10 or V2004?

Is your BIOS current. If this has been an issue since you bought I'm thinking something is happening within hardware. Not proof and I did use the word "thinking".

Yes, I am using an Insider release and is on the Fast Insider Preview Ring. And my BIOS is the latest one for my computer, and I finally got tinternet access (Yes a joke, I know). And no, changing the Power mgmt options for adapter did not work.
