I also got the message "There are no updates available to hide". Does this mean I will be unable to remove KB460960? Not sure if I have an older image. Shame to have to buy a new printer as this one has been extremely reliable for the last 8 years, even with the use of cheap ink! I suppose its about time I invested in a laser printer.

The thing is @AbleArcher, you shouldn't have to do that. MS should test their patches PRIOR to rolling them out!

    Hello @nextdrOp,

    Welcome to TenForums!
I thought you might find it interesting to say the least!
    Yes!
    Hello!

The KB install itself again this morning.
I saw MS already know about it.
We have to wait for broken USB connections.

    Hello @John88,

This problem doesn't affect me as I have an HP printer!

I started by trying to resolve the initial OP's [ @JoeMcLutz ] question in post #1, and as you can see, this thread has evolved into something much bigger as far as finding that this affects many [ probably most ] Brother printers and is caused by WU KB4560960.
I have an old HP DesignJet 110 plus that stopped working after KB4560960. It was printing with the drivers for windows 7. Uninstalling KB4560960 restores printing.

On a newer Officejet 6960 no problems at all. So it seems to affect old (and probably unsupported) printers.

I unfortunately cannot uninstall KB4560960: Windows say it's an important update and cannot be uninstalled; maybe this is due to the fact I've done system cleaning and thus is impossible to roll back to previous state. I honestly don't know if I would have uninstalled it even if there had been the possibility...

...Printers that were doing their job nicely so far: I don't wanna buy a newer printer: my Brother DCP 165C is still a good and working printer and it's not its fault. I hope Microsoft will fix it soon.

I know that running Disk Cleanup or some of the DISM cmd's does cause the inability to uninstall WU's!
