I tried this before and got a warning with 7-Zip





Also the final size of the extracted folder is way smaller that the actual file, which is weird IMHO.

Now back to my main problem.

After successfully updating the BIOS, I inserted/installed the HDD and started up the Laptop.

The HDD is seen and read at the BIOS but not at the Windows.

What can be causing that ?

When available please update the progress with the steps in post #9.

These should rule in /or rule out problems related to:

a) operating system
b) component store
c) drive file system
d) major hardware components

For updating drivers it is best to use the computer manufacturer software.
These are the best tested drivers.
The next best option is to update using component manufacturer software: Intel, Nvidia, AMD, Killer Networks, Realtek, etc.

Third party software can install unknown files.

Please explore further and set it right.

Go to dell.com/support choose Diagnostics where you can run a Quick Test,Full Test and Custom Component Test to get to know what exactly is the problem.

Already working on them.

I use "Driver Easy" for keeping my drivers up to date as sometimes I can't find the right update matching the driver for my Laptop and it's really easier to use one program that handles all that work.

So what should I do with the already installed updates via this program and I can't remember ?

It's not the only prog I used, before I used DriverPack, Driver Genius and some others I can`t remmember.

Is there any reliable software I can be using from now on, I have 100 days until license expires of "Driver Easy".

Really should only get drivers for laptop manufacturer then the hardware maker.

Thanks for pointing that out, really didn't notice that!!!

It's showing the warning for battery, now I get worried even more.

I have ran a Quick Test before, first when I started to have problems and it ended with no warnings or alerts.

I will be running a custom test as advised by @zbook.

Well I totally agree with you and that what I was doing until 2016 as I remember, AMD had a driver called AMD Catalyst as I recall on windows 8 and it was causing lots of problems with switchable graphics and I got BSOD nearly daily and it was a bad experience till I found a group of developers making a custom install for that driver that work just perfect.

And Dell was not fixing these issues nor AMD for long time, I posted lots of time at Dell community back then with no solution.

So from that point I turned for searching for driver updates where ever I can find the most recent updated, which is what these software do at much more ease and convenience.
