    odd mouse problem

I reinstalled Windows 10 / 1903 on an HP 15 f009wm laptop. I installed the drivers from the HP site and everything works correctly except the mouse, that exhibits only jerky unusable movement, with both wired and wireless mouse. When I check the device manager there is one issue (see pic) I'm not sure what it is. The mouse works perfectly in safe mode.

The track pad is probably broken and that affects the external mouse I would try opening it up and unplugging the wire to the track pad

right click on the unknown device and choose properties then the detail tab bring down drop box and choose hardware id's and post them here. also since you reinstalled windows why did you not install to the latest build 1909?

I am not prepared to open the laptop case. Is there a way to disable the trackpad other than disconnecting the wires?

Have to ask was mouse working fine before you install windows? If so then not the trackpad causing issue. Did you follow the links?

Solved: I downloaded the Windows 10 Creation Tool 1909 and ran it from a USB drive. Everything is working as it should. Thank you for all your help. - Len
