Hello: I just did a fresh install of Windows 10 Version 1903 got everything up and running good then looked @ my Hdd its only showing 2.47tb on a 3tb Hdd. ? Went into Disk Manager and this is what I have
746gb unallocated that I can not do anything with other then go to Help every thing is greyed out, I want to find away to use the storage. Maybe use it for Linux or something of that sort.

Mbr cant have a boot partition larger that 2tb hard drive. U can install windows in uefi mode to have larger boot partition.
The usb made by the MCT can boot in either Legacy MBR or UEFI mode. When booted, it will only do an install of the type appropriate to the mode it was booted in.
The boot usb should be listed twice if your machine has a UEFI bios and has a 'one time boot menu' available by pressing a key (often F12) at powering on the PC. Choose the appropriate one for the type of install you want.
Folks, I'm a Windows 7 person, can the HD be split into C and D partitions? Will Windows 10 allow that?

There's no reason why the OP can't stick with the legacy MBR install and format the unallocated space as a D: drive. They could also reinstall in UEFI and choose not to use the whole drive for C:, leaving space for a D: drive if they wish (or resize the C: partition after the event to make room for a D: drive)....can the HD be split into C and D partitions? Will Windows 10 allow that?
As already said, a MBR can only have 2.2T in one or multiple partitions. To use a UEFI-GPT as boot able drive, you must have UEFI BIOS and Windows 64 bits.
EwryRobert, you have two options:
1) Reinstall Win 10 64 bits as UEFI-GPT. If your installation disk is on a USB flash drive, it MUST be Fat32 formatted. If not:
- Format the USB flash drive as Fat32.
- Mount the Iso file and copy all files and folders to the USB flash drive. (It won't boot as Legacy-MBR, only UEFI)
Boot the Win 10 installation disk as UEFI, delete all partitions on the disk and proceed.
2) Convert your current installation to UEFI-GPT. Convert Windows 10 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI without Data Loss
It will create a EFI Fat32 partition and convert the disk to GPT.
After the conversion you can move the Recovery and the EFI Fat32 partition to the end of the disk and join the unallocated space to the C: partition.
Why don't you buy a small SSD (120G), install Win 10 pro 64 Bits on it and move the C:\Users to D:\Users (on the HDD) using Kari tutorial. Move Users Folder Location in Windows 10
That is what I have in my desktop and laptop. Works great.
You will have the speed of a SSD and the space of a HDD for only US$25.

Use GPT, not MBR.
Otherwise, on a boot drive with Windows, I don't think you can see that extra space above 2.2 TB at all---regardless.
