    unusual HP printing problem with win 10


    my edition of windows 10 is vs 1903 . when I open up a doc or email the printer works fine., if I do a screen grab to .png - it will not print when fully open on the screen using my HP printer officejet 5255 .

    .. but if I save it to a file and then go to that- folder / file thumbprint.. view in thumbprint and right click/ print it will print ...

    Why ??

    Could be this known issue, common to all versions of W10 and first acknowledged by MS on 23 September.

    Workaround: Retrying to print may allow you to print successfully. If retrying does not allow you to print, you may also need to restart your device. If your device is using a v4 print driver and a v3 driver is available, you can also try installing the v3 driver as a workaround.

    Next steps: We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
