I came upon this thread since I'm in the same boat with the folder not being there either. I'm still searching around. I wish they had posted where to get it or how to make a new reg entry.

So I tried exporting the registry files from my laptop and importing them onto my desktop and still no dice. I will continue looking for an answer but for now I found a update service called Driver Easy. It does a pretty good job telling you what needs to be updated. Only problem is that it doesn't update the actual file since you will need to pay for the PRO version to make it do that. It does download the update files you need though. You will have to manually install them through Deevice Manager. To do that, after teh Driver Easy finishes downloading a file it will open a folder. Copy the address of that folder window that pops up and you will have to search for the device that it is for on device manager. It shoud tell you the name of the item you are looking for. Put it in the "i will search my computer for update files" on device manager and click next and it should start update.
If you're using build 2004 you can't search for drivers as you did using the Device Manager.
Drivers are now optional via Windows Updates.

The routine use of 3rd party driver updaters is definitely not recommended by most here- see several discussions on this topic.
Thank you, I will look into it. I hope the other dude sees your post.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DriverSearching]"DriverUpdateWizardWuSearchEnabled"=dword:00000001
How do I fix this????
If you are referring to not being able to search for drivers using the Device Manager, see post #13 - MS removed it.
