Dell Vostro 1720 Alps Touchpad won't work with Windows 10

Hi, I have reset my Dell Vostro 1720 laptop and re-installed Windows 10 but it is saying the driver for the Alps Touchpad is incompatible with Windows 10, does anybody know where I can find a compatible driver?
It worked fine when I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 but since doing the reset and re-install it isn't playing
    Can anybody help please?

Go to theDell Drivers site, find your model, or type in your Service tag $. choose Windows 7 (the latest OS for this computer (ie) 32 bit or 64 bit whatever is your version. Download the ALP's driver
When the driver downloads it unzips to a file in your C: drive usually C:\Dell\Drivers take note of where. If the driver fails, browse to the unzipped file location, open the folder and right click Setup.exe and choose Properties/Compatibility. Make it compatible with Windows 7. Put a check in the box Run As Administrator apply and OK. Double click the driver to install.

Thanks for the instructions, I’ve found it in C:\dell\drivers\R244796 changed the compatibility to Windows 7 and ticked Run this program as an administrator, apply, OK, double clicked on Setup but it still says it doesn’t work with this version of windows, I’ve gone back into it and it’s retained the settings - any other ideas?
    Thanks for your help :)

Go into the folder and do the same for DPInst.exe. and see how you get on.

It’s worked!! Thank you so much :)
Perhaps you could also offer some magical advice on how to get the digital persona fingerprint reader working, it’s not showing as an option on the sign in options?
    Thanks

If I don't get straight back to you it's because I'm in the UK and off to bed now :) will check back tomorrow...
