Internal secondary hard drive not recognised

After fitting SSD (C: drive) to my Win10 machine I connected the old hard drive as a secondary storage drive.

    Win10 does not "see" it!
But Belarc Adviser "sees" the hard drive!

How to force Win 10 to recognise the secondary drive? Simple steps please for a non-techie.

    Thanks.

Hi, I hope you formatted the old drive. You could do that by either means below.

When you say Win 10 can't see it, I guess you mean file explorer doesn't show it.
Does Disk Management? (via Windows key + X)

If you still have difficulty accessing it, download and install Minitool Partition Wizard (free)
Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Free
    which gives you more flexibility.

At any stage please post a screenshot (picture of part of your screen) if that will help (post the picture using the Insert Image icon above your post).

    Hi there
    quick way

on windows menu (windows icon type cmd

then these commands diskpart (2nd window will come up - saves you having to go into admin mode from the start) :

    List disk
    select disk xxx
    assign
    exit

where xxx is the number of the secondary disk -- I assume it's formatted OK etc.

the assign will automatically assign it a letter and you should then see windows explorer listing the disk.

    Cheers

Your 1 TB disk 0 appears as "unallocated" in Disk Management.

    It isn't formatted.

You can format it right there in Disk Management with a right click.

Give it a drive letter; it looks like E is available.

Thankyou ignatzatsonic (and everyone else) for your help.

Windows now recognises the added secondary drive.
