    The USB stick is toast. This is also a common fault with SD cards.

    As a last resort, try formatting the Kingston flash drive with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool v 2.2.3.

    Softpedia review has this to say "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool can be used to format USB storage devices that cannot be formatted by Windows."

    No harm in trying. Tool - the single executable file - to be run as administrator.

    ( This tool can also be used to create a FAT32 volume which is larger than 32GB.)

I have tried almost everything with this drive but it still wont format, let me change the drive letter, change the name, or open it. Anyone have any idea whats wrong? i may have put an os on it with Rufus but not sure.
I tried CMD, StorageDevicePolicies in Regedit but nothing. Still Write Protected, help.
