Dark, light and rainbow releases also had bad hotspots in the help states. Here are the fixed ones. If any of you are using those, hover your pointer over the dates on these posts and you'll see.
    Thanks for the detailed work.
As I said, 1-2px shifts can happen.

But I'm lost here: Dark and Light show normal hotspots:
    Custom Cursors-dark-hotspot-check.png
And Rainbow release had 1px downshift for the help role. No big deal.

EDIT: I never thought is that visible when moving. Even the built in Windows custom cursors have a pixel shift between some roles...

There's no harm in adding cursors to it as a separate download. It's up to Hopachi to decide whether he wishes to include them in the official zip or not.
    OK.
I won't change the released zips that Cesare mentioned.
But you can create as many fixes as you want. The separate zips are considered as patches, so who wants those can simply download and apply them.

@Hopachi I made animated 'busy' and 'working' cursors for your binary sets, in case anyone is still interested in them now that there is LLX

I was going to also add both new colours to it as well as 'location' and 'person'. Should the animation be faster?

    Attachment 322550 Attachment 322551

That's the simplest version, other options would include gradually shifting those rows of numbers up and down in the manner of those analog clock displays, but it would require more frames.

    I like it!

The animation speed looks fine to me also. BTW @Hopachi , you wouldn't happen to have any spare resources for those animated states to replace the numbers, something like the LLX stars or gears? I'm thinking something like a simplified version of that most complex version of 'move' that's in some of the LLX sets.
Do you have a link to a specific release? Those 'binary' sets I released are static. There are no animations made.

    @i486
I can help with the animation if needed. We might need to make one from scratch.
The one you made for the numbers looks good already.

Please add all the 17 cursor roles for Windows 10 in this "Rainbow Deluxe" cursor set. You may add additional gear and star cursors if you wish, but if you plan to do so, please make sure that the addition cursors are included in the same zip file once you upload the complete and finished version.

Here is a preview of the cursors:

    Those look fine already.
If you have permission from the original author, maybe I can help out. Depends on what you want here, new design from scratch?

That's a bit of reverse engineering there. I can assist but I won't copy anything.
Also you do have some work in creating the animation, the gradient alone...

The preview is a GIF, you cannot integrate it anywhere: you can look at it but has already colour loss due to heavy lossy compression. RW editor requires a sequence so it means that you need to create the animation frame by frame.

Hopachi, you can create a similar Rainbow Deluxe set based on my proposal above. This cursor set is not copyrighted, so you can use it to create the Rainbow Deluxe cursor set as I mentioned above.

I do want a new design from scratch for the Rainbow Deluxe cursor set. I want the animation of the color loop to go from left to right. That is from red to purple in the color gradient.

I want the Rainbow Deluxe cursor set to be for Windows 10, so please include all the cursors in the zip file when complete, including additional cursors such as gears, and other cursor types.

Please double check all of your hotspots to make sure that there are not offset, like with some of your old sets.

    Thanks.

The dark and rainbow sets' 'help' had the same hotspots as the light release's, so I assumed they would have the shift also. I can't remember if I actually tested the other two, but the light one sure had it. Now it's at least certain that the others won't

True. Some kind of pixel art star is what I had in mind. Something like these:

Or possibly just one of the layers of the LLX star:

But I see the round center on the other layer there as a problem, it doesn't seem to go well with the pointers as is, it would have to be made less smooth, more pixelated. Another option is to use your vortex cursors:

But that too might have the same problem. It would save some time thought since the animations are already done.

Pixel shift is sometimes unsolvable for stars. However, please make sure that pixel shift does not occur in future sets. Double check all your cursors before releasing a complete set.

    Good luck Hopachi.

    "Enhanced" Binary sets

All cursor states are done now, the 'person' and 'location' states worked out better than I expected. All Hopachi's original sets have animated and the aforementioned states now, and I also added white and black sets complete with a drop shadowed version. They are 32bit cursors so they can have any colour combinations possible as well as transparencies. They will be a good template for future colours, and the same formats (normal 32x32 & medium 48x48) are included. White version with drop shadows, one without shadows and a black version are finished now, so if any of you would like to have them, tell me and I'll upload them. Personally I'd rather wait until more of them are done, but you might notice bugs that have slipped by me. I can upload the additional cursors to Hopachi's original sets as a separate zip, it would include 'location', 'person', and the two animated states.

That RealWorld Cursor editor is a pain in the ass, it's buggy and prone to crashing/becoming unresponsive when it's been running for a while, I'm using the portable version. There might be some memory leak type bug.

I'm talking about the shift of the hotspot. Can happen to miss it sometimes, nobody's perfect.
Pixel shifts in the image, that's more tricky and depends on how good or ugly the outcome is.

I know that you were taking about the shift of the hotspots. I do like your example on the pixel star that blows like fireworks.

That's fine. It would be ideal if every coloured pixel was accompanied by its pair like in the pointers, in all frames. For visibility. But that's a good template for experiments. I've no experience with making animated stars though, but the binary set needs some generic alternative for the "digital" cursors, either stars or gears.

    Custom Cursors-preview.png

I've made drop shadowed versions of your Binary cursors, complete with small tweaks to hotspot and cursor positions, as well as two new cursor states and the animated spinners. I also added four new colours, black, white, a darker blue and a very familiar purple

    More to follow...

Edit: New zip with more "goodies" in a new post...
