Screensaver starting after 1 minute, resetting time out does not work

The wife PC has Win10 Pro version 21H2 installed and has been ok for the last 6 months

For the last couple of days the Screensaver starts after 1 minute and then requires you to login when you want to use the PC. You can reset the screensaver to say 10 minutes and ensure that the "On resume Display Log-in screen" is unticked, click apply, OK, then reopen the screensaver window and the screensaver wait time has reverted back to 1 minute. I was suggested that I run SFC which I did, it said it found a couple of corrupt files which it resolved. I rebooted and reset the screensaver but still have the same issue.

    Can anybody advise.

    Click ---OK ---first,then ---Apply ---.
    If that does not work,use ---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth ---
When completed ,use ---sfc /scannow ---to confirm.

    Tim,

Please post a [cropped] screenshot showing the screensaver dialog after you have set it up & OK-ed it.

And please post the response to the command
    Code:
    PowerCfg -a

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

Ok, progress has been made, I ran DISM (as per joeandmarg0) and then sfc /scannow. The PC was then rebooted, now the PC does not drop into screensaver every 1 minute, but neither does it drop to screensaver on the appointed time either. It seems that it goes into powersave mode which is set at 15 minutes, goes to a black screen where when you want to resume you have to log back in again. The "On Resume display log-on screen" remains unticked

Hopefully below should be the images requested, all suggestion greatly received

Your PowerCfg -a results show that we are not trying to deal with the added complexity of it being an S0 Modern standby [S0 low power idle] computer. So that's good.

Your latest post shows that you need to sort out both your Power options & your screensaver.
I do not think you can do both at once. There is too much risk of misinterpreting symptoms of one setting as being caused by the other.
For example, a requirement to log in again after wakeup and a requirement to log in again after rousing from the screensaver are entirely independent mechanisms.
So, I suggest that you set your screensaver to (None) until all aspects of Power options have been resolved.

What have you set in Power options?
Change Turn Off Display After Time - TenForumsTutorials
Turn On or Off Require Sign-in on Wakeup - TenForumsTutorials
Enable or Disable Require Sign-in after Specified Time when Display Turns Off - TenForumsTutorials
You might also like to see this control where it had always been shown by default [several Versions ago] - Add 'Require a password on wakeup' to Power Options - TenForumsTutorials
