Why Does File Explorer Now Conform to Dark Theme? Is There A Fix?

    Hi all,

Because I'm a little annoyed at the moment, I'd like to preface my question with a small comment: I have used every Windows operating system from Windows 98 until now, and Windows 10 is, by a phenomenal margin, the worst operating system I have ever had the displeasure of wasting my time with. Now, let's continue:

I have been using Windows 10 for about four years now, and until a few days ago, something has always been the same: Dark Theme has been enabled, with File Explorer being white. This has worked just lovely for me and I couldn't possibly need this to change. Well, it changed. For some reason, File Explorer now conforms to the Dark Theme for the first time in four years... why? My greatest concern is that trying to make File Explorer white again requires me to switch to Light Theme, which makes my Windows task bar white. My Windows task bar has never been white before today and it looks ridiculous to me. My question to you all is as follows: Is there a way to return to the previous (and perfectly fine) status quo? Or do I need to adapt to Microsoft's dysfunctional design decisions because'... well, no reason in particular'?

    Thanks!

Sorry, but Windows ME & Windows Vista were the worst OS ever. Those 2 should have never happened.

    Settings / Personalize / Colors
    Light dark custom
choose Custom then set app mode to light.
    See if that works.

Ah, that's pretty simple. I wasn't able to find a solution after some google searching, hence why I asked the question here. This is what I was wanting; thank you for your help.

Admittedly, ME is the one OS that I didn't use during that time, but I have heard some pretty bad things about it. Would definitely disagree about Vista being worse than 10, though. While Vista did have some issues to be sure, Windows 10 has succeeded in frustrating me and disrupting my workflow more times than Vista could have ever hoped to have done in its wildest dreams.

Vista really was bad. They should have just went from XP to Windows 7 and skipped Vista all together. Now, I think Windows 10 is the best ever thus far. I can't wait until Microsoft creates a new OS.
