Windows Spotlight changes Images in 7 days.

    Hi,

I was running Windows 10 - 1803 till 3/10/2018 and my Windows Spotlight was running fine.
    - I performed windows update to 1809 and the spotlight was stuck to the same image
    - I did reset and re-registation of spotlight without any luck.
    - I reformatted my laptop to updated to 1803
    - Still my spotlight is not changing the images daily
    - After a week I observed that the images changes weekly.
    - Now spotlight is working but the images are chaning every 7 days.
    - Did perform reset and register spotlight again but still same changes in 7 days.
    - I am domain user.

Can anyone help here to get the spotlight change the images on daily basis.

There was a bug in the later version of 1803 whre if you marked a photo as disliked it stopped Spotlight from changing the picture again. I noticed this & if I didn’t choose ‘dislike’ the photo eventually changed.
I had to run Brink’s Spotlight fix. With 1809 all appears OK.
In your case I wonder if being part of a domain is the cause.

    Hi Bastet,

    Thanks for your reply..

    1) I didn't dislike any image.. rather the issue started after the upgrade of 1809.
    2) Sometime I also feel the issue could be due to domain.. I am not sure the exact setting to which I can ask my
    domain admin to change.
    3) If you could advice the exact changes I can ask the domain admin to change the same.

    Thanks

Hi Subodh, sorry I’m not familiar with working in a domain so can’t help. I know Spotlight relies on Edge & Bing to be able to change/find/download the images so you may want to check there to see if all is working & the internet is freely accessible.
