Yep, it is. There's a certain order you have to do when cleaning up your computer or when your new restore point is set, you're right back where you started!

i do restore point just in case something goes wrong. its handy to have. however, it also takes up a lot of memory. i was down to 434GB on disk C..after delete, it went back to 437GB.. i will get an external by thursday and do backup

@Pathfinder, restore points are great but they don't always work & can be compromised. Your best bet is to look at this tutorial & make a system image on a regular basis. These can be a lifesaver, especially if Ransomware strikes. Make/keep the image on a external HDD/FD that is not connected to the PC at all times. The newer version of Ransomware goes after images & corrupts them rendering them useless.

System Image - Create in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

A system image is an exact copy of all system disks which can be used to restore your PC to the state it was in at the time the image was made. By default, a system image only includes the drives that Windows requires to run, including Windows 10 itself, your system settings, programs, and files. You may also include any other drive in the image if you wish. When you restore your computer from a system image it is a complete restoration, you cannot choose individual items to restore and all of your current programs, system settings, and files are replaced with the contents of the system image.

You would be better off using Macrium (Free Edition) it's much better. We have a tutorial for that too. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/6...ckup%20Restore
