I see that a lot with electronics. I buy a lot of PC stuff from NewEgg and TigerDirect. Even with the shipping costs it's cheaper than what I can buy it for at Staples or Futureshop. Usually A lot cheaper. Most of the stuff for my PI I can't buy locally but stuff like power packs etc is cheaper from Adafruit even with the shipping. I just wait till I need more than the one item to order stuff. It all depends on how quick you need or want it. I ordered one of those power packs with my Pi 2. 2.5 A micro USB. Looks just like the one from Adafruit. I have a 2 A one from Adafruit but it doesn't look like the one you linked to. It has the 20AWG wire cord though.

Not the final configuration yet but this setup works. The wifi dongle is sticking out like an antenna. :)
The SD card is also accessible at the back for swapping.

I haven't got didn't have any plans for a case for my screen yet until now. It's usable now, although not the best setup. Haven't given it a lot of thought yet. I want it portable so maybe a plastic tool box or one of those plastic storage containers. Something with a top that opens up and back and stays upright when its opened. I'll mount the display inside on the underside of the lid. Then put a battery and the Pi in the bottom. My Media center is basically a done deal now. This one is for taking out on the deck with me to tinker with. If I can store all the wires and cable and breakout boards in the case that would be ideal. A lift out tray for that stuff would work I think. Hmmm.

Something like this may do what I want, http://www.homedepot.ca/product/husk...ian-box/842778. I'll have to go in open a few up and see what they look like inside. A molded plastic one will make it easy to dremel off the bits I don't want, or anything in the way.

And you don't call that a plan? :)

I may put a different USB hub when the GPIO cable arrive. I need a compartment for the 10300mAh TP-Link battery pack.
That black thing on top of the box is the wowee one pro speaker. It has a very big low bass sound. :)

lol, I came up with that idea while I was typing that post. I guess I should have said " I didn't have" "until now".
