Is the rechargeable battery in Sony SRS -HG1 user-replaceable? ( Probably not. ) On any high cost device ( Cost exceeding INR 5000- USD 70 ) I would look for it instead of throwing away all hardware just because the battery life is over. ( I don't need a waterproof/ water resistant device.) I can't afford throw-aways .
Even in the case of Marshall Kilburn many users got stuck when the battery died since the battery pack was not available. ( Kilburn will still work on mains power) . Fortunately the battery pack is now available for USD50 on Amazon USA. ( I shall order one to be delivered to my daughter in USA. Lithium Ion batteries have a shelf life of 10 years. I expect the batteries on my Kilburn to last five years.)

Hi, the Sennheiser HD 4.40 is not a noise cancelling headphone. The most cost efficient noise cancelling headphone you can get is the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC. It has the same active noise cancelling (ANC) technology as the PXC.
The Sennheiser PXC series is at par with Bose QC35 II and Sony WH1000 Mark 3 ANC headphones. I chose the PXC because of the intuitive touch/swipe controls and better bass distribution than Bose. I didn't consider the WH1000 because of it's bulkiness in design.
Plus the 30hr battery life of the PXC is amazing.
Cost efficient???? In USA HD4.5 BTNC costs twice as much as HD4.4 BT ( no NC). In India it is 2.57 x.
ANC is not my requirement. Most reviews I had read indicate that HD 4.4BT is good enough. "The device sits tightly in place, creating an acoustic seal which reduces background noise and prevents your music from leaking out." https://versus.com/en/sennheiser-hd-...r-hd-4-50-btnc
So it is a wallet Vs bragging rights
Yep, you can take it that way too .
