I like my TV and computers separate and like the traditional way of tv broadcasts (films on demand I like but not tv series/seasons)

I like to look forward to a good series being on tv a 9pm on a Monday or a different one on a Wednesday at 8pm
If I could just watch things when I wanted without a proper schedule I would probably ignore most tv shows

I just heard on a news programs that comcast has set top boxes that delivers Internet. I think the test market is going to be in California. I wonder if it comes with a keyboard and what operating system is it based on.

I've seen quite a few articles saying smart TVs are subject to viruses, one of the reasons I would prefer not to have one.

As far as TVs serving as computers goes, maybe, once affordable higher screen resolution is available, the TVs have high power processors, more RAM, more storage capacity, etc. The current "smart" TVs are wimpier than cheap tablets.

Perhaps the latest generation of 'stick pc's' is the answer....computers like the Intel Compute Stick or the Hanspree version?

Place the stick into a socket at the back of the TV set/monitor, add the peripherals and your TV set turns into a web browser with a small computer capability.

Yes, it's early days for this innovative generic type of computer, but one I believe the performance and memory capability will improve.
