Possible Scam, Should I Respond to This - Zoominfo

I got an email from a company called Zoominfo. They are not related to Zoom videoconferencing. Basically they are notifying me about collection of my personal information. I've learned that what this company does is scrape the internet collect info about people, and package & sell it to telemarketers, b2b sales, etc. It opens up a page on their site where it says I can access my collected data after they verify me, or I can request deletion from their database.

They give a flow chart on what happens if I request deletion. The very last item on the flow chart is they send a request to Google to remove my profile from their search engine. But I don't want to remove myself from Google. I don't know if this means they will request google to delete everything of mine??? It might mean they tell Google to remove my Zoominfo profile from the search engine but I'm not sure. Has anyone ever dealt with this company?

They may have gotten my info from LinkedIn or from a resume I sent. As I understand it, if you email someone who has the Zoominfo app connected to their Outlook or contacts then zoominfo grabs your info as well.

If the company is not associated with google why would it remove your info that google has. I looked at Wikipedia English this company is controversial " (...)hence the warnings published by many organizations to their employees and customers.[21][20] For this reason, while ZoomInfo is a legitimate company, it has been rated negatively by the Better Business Bureau and "is the subject of multiple lawsuits and other complaints concerning how it collects, uses and sells personal data, which may then be leveraged by third party parties to create highly specific phishing emails."

I don't think Google will be associated with this dubious company and therefore not delete your data from their servers.

I'm thinking that I should request to have my profile on their site taken down. I don't need more cold selling emails. I get enough of those! Maybe it just means that they tell Google to remove the profile that THEY have on me, which I guess comes up in the search engine.

Yes that's what I think too, the zoominfo company will ask Google to delete/dereference the profile that zoominfo has made.
Google is not an internet archive, sooner or later the profile will be automatically dereferenced from Google serveurs when zoominfo will delete this profile from their servers.
