The people of Easter Island are going to be pissed!!!
Why?
Are they heavy alcohol drinkers?

Excellent!

I have told this joke before but for old times sake and for the tiny fraction who have not heard it.
A British diplomat was flying a US airline from London to New York. The plane continues on to Los Angeles after New York.
The US hostess announced "We shall be landing in New York momentarily".
The British Diplomat asked "Will I have time to disembark at New York?"
Like it!
But the Oxford English Dictionary allows it.
And you must realize you are talking to a Yank from Massachusetts.
We mangle language for sport here!

It does specifically state North American which rather proves my point.
Incidentally, I am never sure these days if term Yank is consideed derogatory thse days. The problem is that there is not a simple colloquial short friendly name for our friends across the Pond like Brit. I am going to invent a nice one - Amie (only joking, I have a dear lassie friend Amie (a Scottish spelling)).

You are probably right. Locally it is a group identifier, but it does carry 155 years of baggage.
Amie is probably as good as anything.

Nope.

Whoosh - Brit Joke.
In UK, when we are "Pissed", we are drunk. When we are angry, we are "Pissed Off'.
