Yeah, it was B&W when I was a kid too. Shows that were in color I remember, Walt Disney's Wonderful World, The Flintstones. We used to say "look at the color" I told my nieces that once, and they looked at me like Were there dinosaurs too? (Yes, Dino :) )

I remember no TV at all, In Yugoslavia we got TV only in 1958 and it was "experimental" with one and later 3 channels all the way until 1970. First few years, one channel 6am to midnight and in mean time raster and elevator music.

That was about when we went from 405 lines B&W to 625 lines and PAL colour.

Yes, 1970 first PAL here too but old B/W was still going in 1974 when I left, don't know how long it was but when I returned in 1997 my uncle was still running an old TV set in B/W.
