We always say

1) bud is like making love in a boat - "effing close to water".

2) Why does bud go through you quicker than real beer? It does not have to stop to change colour.

I am happy to stand any "Tenfer" who comes to Aberdeen a Real Ale (or a whisky) at the legendary Grill bar (even for any Tenfers in UK).

If I do have to drink fizzy beer, as regrettably most pubs in Scotland do not serve Real Ale, then I drink Stella Artois.

I was once at a conference with Brits, Aussies and Americans, and the Brits and Aussies had be throwing verbal lumps all day at each other with the Americans sitting on the sidelines.

At end of the day, I said ,"who's up for a few jars in local pub". The Aussies immediately said yes. The Americans could not understand that we would go drinking together after throwing lumps at each other all day!
