I saw these pictures from Texas, people abandoned their cars in the floods and when they came back their wheels were gone. Nice.

I was raised in Houston area and most of the streets are below grade and become rivers when you get a lot of rain keeps the water out of houses sometimes Not uncommon to have 2 feet of water in the road and the house is high and dry.

We have a lot of flooding along the Ottawa river. No where near me but they are getting hit hard. More rain and lots of snow melt.

Lots of places have never seen river so high.

My wife's cousin lives in Austin. We were in San Antonio a few years back. Pretty country. We met him halfway. Had lunch at "The Salt Lick BBQ".

They were prone to flash floods. As you drove along some of the smaller highways there would be measuring sticks located in the valleys to tell you how much water was covering roads. Some of the sticks had over 6 feet.

We and Mum had a good meal at a Chinese all you can eat Mum cannot tolerate a much salt the boiled Crawfish were not salty and everything else was just right.
