Isn't that maximum amps delivered by a USB2.0 port half of what a USB3.1 delivers. That would influence charge times.
I don't know about USB 2.1. That's new to me. But, much of this is a naming convention. USB 3.0 (capable off THEORETICAL 5 Gbps) came out. Then they came out with USB 3.1 (THEORETICALLY capable of 10 Gbps}. So the USB consortium, in it's infinate wisdom, decided that all USB 3.0 ports would now be called USB 3.1 Gen 1. The new USB 3.1 with the increased speed and power delivery would now be called USB 3.1 Gen 2. All of this was a vast conspiracy to confuse us so that we didn't have a clue what was going on.
