BSOD when I unplug my kobo touch from USB
Hi there,
I've been trying to get my Kobo Touch to be recognized properly by my Windows 10 desktop for a couple of days now. Bear in mind my laptop running completely stock Windows 10 picks it up flawlessly, so I think there is something screwing going on with my USB drivers.
Prior to today, it would recognize the Kobo as a disk in device manager but would not auto-mount and appear in Explorer. Today, I did a firmware update and afterward Windows 10 started recognizing it and auto-mounting the disk, which now appears as drive I:.
But now every time I unplug it from USB, I get a BSOD (SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED).
Prior to updating the firmware on the Kobo I took multiple runs at installing and reinstalling the AMD chipset drivers (SB950 on Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 motherboard) to try to get it to detect properly. Strangely there are no chipset drivers offered by the manufacturer or by the AMD Catalyst/Crimson chipset driver installer except for a USB Filter Driver, which is (according to the installer) for a USB 1.0/1.1 audio device.
So far the BSOD seems to only happen when I unplug the Kobo. I can plug and unplug my phone, which also shows up as a disk, and I also have an external hard drive.
I've attached the output from the forum tool. I hope someone can help me get to the bottom of this.
