Why does sytem repair only work if I change it from legacy to ueif in my bios?
It depends how you have partitioned your SSd with MBR or GPT
If you are using the MBR then you need Legacy or Legacy + Uefi
If you are using GPT then only UEFI
Ok well im sort of making progress I can get it to boot up system repair in legacy+ueif where I couldn't before but it still crashes. I am able to get system repair working but I am back at square one. I tried the things u suggested in command prompt and they all came back with completed successfully. I have not tried to repair the EFI Bootloader in Windows 10 suggestion but thats my next step.
Could this be a motherboard problem ir is this a windows os problem?
PLease stop doing all kind of stuff on your Pc.
Because honestly i am confused what you have done or are doing.
You are (re)setting your bios into legacy and then back to uefi and restarting your pc in between etc.
What is your specific problem at the moment.
You give no answers to questions. As did you use the reset to reinstall your windows again or the refresh or did you do a clean reinstall etc.
I just wanted to say thanks i finally was able to repair my pc. She works now I just followed the command prompt directions and it worked like a charm. I really appreciate all the help you gave me. Fingers crossed I wont run into that problem again, although at least now I know how to fix it. A million thanks my friend.
So scratch that last message computer ran fine for about 30 minutes then it started doing the bsod all over again. So my question is could this be a bad windows copy or is this a system thing like my motherboard or cpu thats faulty?
What was the system doing in this 30 minutes did it install Windows Updates.
Did you install a program or update any drivers.
Please use the BSOD posting instruction to provide theDumpfile https://www.tenforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/2198-bsod-posting-instructions.html
And fill in your System Specs.
so in those 30 minutes I downloaded the following my MSi mobo drivers, nivida graphics card drivers, google chrome, uttorent, corsair drivers for water cooler. These were the same programs I downloaded the first go around when I got it to work for 30 minutes, the only thing I didn't download this time was my windows updates. Now I did read a bunch of posts last night referring to some 3 party programs that might cause serious problems for windows 10 but I don' know how true that is? I am going to try and give it one more go this morning after that I am either bringing it to a repair shop or returning the whole thing for a pre-built. Question I asked you before was do you think this can be a corrupted version of windows or a corrupted motherboard?
This is what I did step for step yesterday when I got it to work
Removed the cmos battery to reset mobo to default
inserted usb recovery to my usb 2.0 drive
bios confirmed I was running in legacy+ueif (didn't change anything)
changed boot order to usb windows recovery to boot 1st
restarted computer
I opened boot manager up in safe mode with command prompt
choose option to install windows 7
typed in product key
format OS on ssd to start fresh
Installed new windows on ssd
install successful
computer restarted and upon restart immediatly crashed to bsod 0xc0000021a
rebooted back to safe mode with command prompt
choose option to repair computer followed steps to get to command prompt
followed tutorial on how to repair efi bootloader
repaired successful
disconnected usb recovery
restarted cpu
windows crashed once but on the next restart I was greeted with normal windows setup.
system was working for around 30-60 minutes before it crashed to bsod
This is as far as I got I shut it off because I was so disgusted with the thing.
Sorry for the trouble
