    After my post, I created a RMA with Newegg, and have already mailed the RAM back off to Cali. I'll post back in about a week, assuming that's how long the turn around will take. Thanks for your help.

    Just an update to say, everything has been good. It was just bad RAM, got the new sticks in last night and have been cold booting perfectly fine. I marked the thread as solved. So it looks like SFC and my RAM problems were unrelated after all.
