    BSOD cause help

    Hi all,

I walked away from my computer and when I came back I found it had restarted. Logs say it was unexpected.
The computer was really idle, not doing anything.

Logs below. Can someone give me any pointers please? I am running Windows 10 Pro 22H2.

    Thank you for your help!

The crash dump says it's a registry error, check if all of your drivers are up to date

    Please perform the following steps:

    1) Run Tuneup plus > post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

    https://www.tenforums.com/attachment...p_plus_log.bat

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging

    2) Create a new restore point:

Create System Restore Point in Windows 10

    3) Run HD Sentinel (Trial version) (all drives)
Post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive for results on these tabs:
    a) Overview
    b) Temperature
    c) Full error scan

    4) Perform Windows and Microsoft defender updates

    5) Find a flash drive that you can format (> or = 8 GB)

    6) Create a bootable Windows 10 iso:

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

    7) For any new BSOD post a V2 share link into the newest post using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

    Hi,

    Thanks.
Drivers are all up-to-date, not much to update: AMD chipset, Video card and BIOS.
@zbook can I ask about points 2 and 6? What do I do with the bootable drive once it's done? It is just in case?

One thing I noticed is that my system was pending some Windows updates - I've been snoozing them for a while. Now I see they've gone, so it is possible that the system showed one of those "if you don't click here, we'll restart and update for you in 10 seconds", and something went wrong during the update process?

A bootable drive is created so you can access the recovery console and run certain commands if you can't boot your system, or even make a clean reinstall.

There was only one BSOD dump file collected and it may be just a one time event.

The event logs and the dump file indicated registry problems.

The Tuneup plus script will check for integrity violations, and problems with the component store and drive file system.

The drive testing is to check for any I/O problems.

The bootable flash drive is in case there are recurrent problems and for a possible in place upgrade.

When available post shar links for steps 1 and 3.

Apologies for not providing the required info yet.

This morning though I had another BSOD. Computer had just been powered on (no sleep or hibernating and my fast boot is disabled). I only had Whatsapp open and ONE page on Edge. Time was about 10:19am

BSOD screen and logs attached. I'll provide the rest ASAP.

    Thanks again!

When available, update the progress with the steps in post #3.

After posting the above results run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes.

    Memtest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool

    MemTest86+ - Test RAM

The 32GB RAM can be tested all at one time or one 8 GB RAM module can be tested one at a time in the same DIMM.
