Strange BSOD since months, it has to go !

    Hey everybody !

I experience a BSOD every once in a while since a few months now, sometimes really worse than others (I sometimes can't use my PC for nights, then I remove random updates and it seems to work until the next badluck).

Yesterday, for a really important deadline, I took all my chances and completely resetted my computer, then only downloading the programs I need for video editing.

    And it's starting again.

I join here the .zip file of the log checking I made according to this forum.. I have no idea what could cause it, except that for now, I opened a Microsoft Edge tab (I usually use Chrome!).

I also noticed that my Internet pages usually go down minutes (or seconds) before the BSOD, in particular Facebook... Maybe it could raise some ideas !

Here is the download link for the .zip file ! Thanks for your help, it's really (really, really) appreciated !

    Hello and welcome to TenForums

There are lots of disk errors on your D: drive. This needs to be checked and remedied. Use CHKDSK

You seem to have drivers running from a Sentinel Fridge AV program. I have known this to cause problems in the past and while troubleshooting it would be best to remove Sentinel and just use Microsoft Defender.

See how the system behaves after doing the above and post new logfiles if you continue to get BSODs.

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for your reply ! I'm glad to have found this community full of people ready to help, it helps me alot !

I've ran a chkdsk on both C: and D:, and did not find any errors.

Also, I don't really know what Sentinel Fridge AV is, but I've deleted all programs in my CPU, only running it with Defender now. I made a complete recap of all my motherboard drivers today though, hoping it will help.

I keep you people posted ! I started a log to file what I was doing on the CPU everytime it crashed, and maybe sudden outbursts of RAM may be an issue in there !

Thanks again, I will keep you informed !

These were the drivers I spotted:
    Code:
aksfridge Sentinel Fridge Sentinel Fridge Kernel Auto Running OK TRUE FALSE 5,248 118,656 0 6/24/2014 5:44:36 AM C:\Windows\system32\drivers\aksfridge.sys 5,504
akshasp SafeNet Inc. HASP Key SafeNet Inc. HASP Key Kernel Manual Stopped OK FALSE FALSE 2,944 40,704 0 12/8/2012 1:01:50 AM C:\Windows\system32\drivers\akshasp.sys 1,152
akshhl SafeNet Inc. Sentinel SafeNet Inc. Sentinel Kernel Manual Stopped OK FALSE FALSE 2,944 23,424 0 12/8/2012 1:04:01 AM C:\Windows\system32\drivers\akshhl.sys 1,408
aksusb SafeNet Inc. USB Key SafeNet Inc. USB Key Kernel Manual Stopped OK FALSE FALSE 128 28,544 0 6/20/2013 5:43:54 AM C:\Windows\system32\drivers\aksusb.sys 1,408
Perhaps they are left over from a previous installation?

You could also run some disk tests:

    Diagnostics Test

     HDD TEST

    Run HDTune to
    • check the health,
    • scan for errors, run the full scan
    • run a benchmark.

It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
    • the health,
    • the error scan,
    • the benchmark incl. following
      • transfer rate,
      • access time,
      • burst rate,
      • cpu usage.

    HI philc43,

    Thanks for the precision !

I'm currently at work for all day, but I'll make sure to check this out and do as said once I come back home !

What would you suggest me for the Sentinel files : Just delete them ?

    Thanks !

Yes, try to delete or rename the files if you can't find any other way of removing them. There may be some registry entries which are causing the aksfridge.sys driver to load but only look there if you know what you are doing; make a system backup (via Macrium Reflect) before messing in the Registry.

    Hey philc43 :)

Good news ! Your analysis seemed to be right : I deleted the .sys drivers you mentioned, knowing they were all coming from Sentinel, which I guess I have installed a way, way back, because I did not have that program installed now. The files wouldn't delete themselves, so I reinstalled Sentinel and uninstalled it proprely.

The files disappeared, and now everything seems under control ! I opened all my «big» editing programs, I'm playing in them like crazy to get the CPU to shut off, and so far so good !

So thanks alot for your help, you really saved me there ! I hope other people will get help from this thread !

When available please post HD Tune results for each drive.
The full error scans can be ran overnight.
