    BSOD (Unexpected_Kernel_Mode_Trap) When Playing Overwatch

    Hello,

I recently built a computer over the holidays with the specs listed in my profile. I have been using it daily for work and for gaming, but the last couple of weeks I got a BSOD error (Unexpected_Kernel_Mode_Trap) twice. I checked event logs both times and learned nothing. I also checked my gpu and cpu temps and they were well within normal limits. I don't remember installing a new app/program that may be causing these crashes either.

I ran the windows memory diagnostics and it came back normal. I also checked my gpu, motherboard, windows, and any other apps I use for updates, but they are all up to date.

My windows version is 1909 OS build 18363.592. I attached the V2 log collector below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is my first time using a windows OS in over 10 years and I am really enjoying the performance of my system, but this happening so quickly, and somewhat frequently is worrisome.

    Thank you in advance,

    Ryan O'Connor

    1. Run Driver Verifier Manager through writing "verifier" in search bottom
    2. Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)"
    3. Tick all standard settings and 2 additional settings (force pending i/o request and irp logging)
    4. Select "Select driver names from a list"
    5. Tick all 3rd party drivers
    6. Apply changes and reboot computer

    Mr.Pepka,

Thank you very much for your help.

I have one quick question. When you mean tick all 3rd party drivers do you mean all the ones that don't have Microsoft in their name?

    Thank you again.

I did that but now windows is not booting up. It is saying “Windows did not load correctly”. There is one driver that is Windows. I’m I supposed to tick that one? I did both times I have tried this and it didn’t boot up.

I am selecting the Driver = netfilter21573.sys Provider Widows (R) Win 7 DDK Provider Version = 1.5.7.2. Its the only windows one I see.

I just want to make sure as well, I am selecting all the drivers even like NVIDIA, Intel, ASUS etc.? Not just the unknown ones correct?

Thank you very much for your help,

    Ryan

It looks like a driver from Asus GameFirst. It is therefore worth ticking it for verification

Ok, I will select all the 3rd party drivers including the ASUS one, but should I tick that Windows one? Because when I ticked all the 3rd party ones before Windows wouldn’t even boot.

What happens at startup? Is a blue screen displayed or something else?
