    Frequent BSOD

    Dear Support,

I am using Dell Laptop and since beginning of purchasing the laptop I am getting BSOD. Hardware verification done using Dell utility in BIOS, Memory Hard drive tests also performed but nothing wrong found.

    BSOD messages like:
    PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA
    IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
    MEMORY MANAGEMENT

Fresh installation of Windows 10 done couple of times still frequent BSOD.
Also installed fresh Windows 10 on 4GB memory stick to rule out memory issue.

Generated the logs using the logs collector and attaching for your kind assistance.

Request to help diagnosing the problem and probable fix.

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

I've asked one of our Gurus to move your thread to the BSOD Crashes and Debugging - Windows 10 Forums. One of use will pick up your problem there and work with you to resolve it.

You appear to have unlicensed software or an illegal installation of Windows 10. Please correct this by installing and activating a legal copy.

See our TOU: Terms Of Website Use

If you then get any more BSODs, run V2 Log collector and upload the zip file and I'll be happy to take a look at it in the BSOD forum.

    Latest logs after Windows activation

Thanks for looking into the logs, Ztruker. Windows was purposely not activated as it was 4th time installation from different media sets. Attaching the logs again after windows activation.

I found in event viewer errors pertaining to File System Filter 'FileCrypt' and 'npsvctrig', while searching on internet some people say to run windows debloater. Executed the debloater and still windows restarting with BSOD.

Your help to diagnose and fix the problem will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for clearing up the activation question.

The first thing I noticed is you are using mismatched RAM:

    Code:
    Location : DIMM A
    BankLabel :
    Manufacturer : 80CE000080CE
    MemoryType : DDR4
    FormFactor : SODIMM
    Capacity : 4GB
    Speed : 2400
    Serial : 969E1F7D
    PartNumber : M471A5244CB0-CRC
    ECC : False
    TypeDetail   : {Synchronous, Unbuffered (Unregistered)}

    Location : DIMM B
    BankLabel :
    Manufacturer : 01980000830B
    MemoryType : DDR4
    FormFactor : SODIMM
    Capacity : 4GB
    Speed : 2667
    Serial : 873A94F0
    PartNumber : 99U5711-002.A00G
    ECC : False
    TypeDetail   : {Synchronous, Unbuffered (Unregistered)}
Looks like the laptop came with 4GB and you added an additional 4GB. Remove the 4GB you added and run that way for awhile and see if the problem persists or not. If not, either get an identical memory DIMM to the one you have installed or buy a new matched pair to replace what you have.

If the problem still happens with the single DIMM installed, swap DIMMs and test some more. This is the simplest way to eliminate possible memory problems.

If this doesn't help, the 9/6 3:26PM dump indicates a problem with mfehidk.sys.

    Code:
    ffffa980`7809e3e8 fffff802`55aca334Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\mfehidk.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for mfehidk.sys
     mfehidk+0x4a334
Driver Description: McAfee Arbitrary Access Control Driver

Uninstall (don't disable) McAfee and run with Windows Defender, see if that makes any difference.

    Dear Ztruker/Support,

Thanks for the help analyzing the logs and recommendation. I got the RAM replaced and run the laptop on single 4 GB replaced memory and the system worked fine for couple of weeks but again it is frequently restarting with BSOD.

Need your guidance to diagnose the root cause. attaching the log files. Your help will be highly appreciated.

If the full dump is still in C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP, please copy it to a different location then zip it and upload to a file sharing site like OneDrive. Post a link to it so I can download to look at it. The minidumps don't contain anything useful.

Also, please uninstall McAfee for now and run with Windows Security (formerly Windows Defender). Let's see if that is contributing to the problem.

    Windows crashing frequently

Thank you for the quick analysis and recommendation. I have uploaded memory.dmp file at below location.

    MEMORY.zip - Google Drive

Your help is required to analyze the same.

    Did you uninstall McAfee yet?

CPU in the dump is running at 1.8Ghz. Are you overclocking? If yes, reset all clocking to nominal.
Let' see if we can show something with Driver Verifier:

    Run Driver Verifier

Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

Always create a Restore Point prior to enabling Driver Verifier.

Following the instructions in the above link will check for problems in all non-Microsoft drivers.

What we're looking for is a verifier generated BSOD with a mini dump that will tell us what driver caused it. If you get a BSOD, rerun the V2 log collector as soon as possible and upload the resulting zip file. Also see if there is a new C:\Windows \MEMORY.DMP file. If there is, copy it to another location then zip it an upload to a file sharing site like OneDrive and post a link to it here.

To check if verifier is active, open a Command Prompt and enter:

    verifier /querysettings

If not active it will respond with

    Verifier Flags: 0x00000000

    Standard Flags:

    Dear Ztruker,

    Yes, McAfee uninstalled.

Regarding overclocking, no changes done in the BIOS. CPU settings in the BIOS as below.
    Multi Core Support - All
    Intel SpeedStep - Enabled
    C-States Control - Enabled
    Intel TurboBoost - Enabled
    HyperThread Control - Enabled

also tried disabling C-State and Intel TurboBoost but it does restart.

Enabled the driver verifier for non-microsoft drivers and it displayed BSOD related to "Page fault in nonpaged area" and file name was win32kfull.sys, other BSOD - pfn list corrupt.

attaching the log output generated using log collector and sharing the memory dump file and Heap dump files.

    Memory Dump
    MEMORY.zip - Google Drive

    Heap Dump File
    HeapDumpFiles.zip - Google Drive

Your help finding the root cause will be highly appreciated.
