    Crash Error 0x8000400000000002 Randomly Ocurring

    Hi-

I have an Gigabyte MB with AMD Processor that keeps crashing. I just removed everything and reinstalled the operating systems but the crash is still happening. I updated the BIOS and that helped for a month or two. I believe it to be hardware but would like to help in diagnosing.

    Steps already taken:
    • Updated BIOS
    • Removed all but was DIMM
    • Reinstalled OS

    Code:
    Log Name: System

The above tells me that the bugcheck was 0x0 (0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0) - meaning that the system could not or did not have enough time to figure out the bugcheck on your BSOD.

This plus the fact that you just reinstalled Windows indicates unknown hardware failure as the cause. I doubt highly that we're dealing with a 3rd party driver issue here.

    Please run -
    BSOD - Posting Instructions

Test RAM - Run memtest86+ one stick at a time; alternate the slots -
Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)
If needed - Download - Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7)

Test hard drive - SeaTools for DOS |
    Seagate
