ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY at Random

Hello,

I have gotten two ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY BSOD's in the past 2 days now. Both times I had Firefox and Discord open, but wasn't doing much at the time, and I doubt that was the cause, so I'm really not sure what could be the problem. The BSOD's just started in those days and I hadn't had problems for a very long time before that.

From what I read about this error, it's likely due to a faulty driver, but all I can think of changing was a Windows update, not a driver update.

I attached the log files as well.

Dump is from 17744.1001 which looks to be the latest Insider Slow build. There are no symbol files for it on the Microsoft Symbol Server so it's almost impossible to debug.

Uninstall ASUS GPU Tweak II, at least for now, see if that helps.

If you get another BSOD, please run the Beta log collector listed at the bottom of the BSOD Posting Instructions page and upload the resulting zip file.

Okay, thank you. I am on the slow ring, so I'm not sure why I have such a new version of Windows, I do remember seeing in the news that this build was just released now....

I'll try that though, and see if it crashes again.

Please run the BETA log collector and post a zip into this thread.
There are two log collectors: DM and BETA.
The beta collects more useful folders and files and at sometime will replace the DM log collector.
It is on the bottom of this webpage:

Open file explorer > this PC > C: > in the right upper corner search for: C:\windows.memory.dmp
If the file size is < 2GB > zip > post a share link into the thread using either: one drive, drop box, or google drive.

Open device manager > click view > show hidden devices > manually expand all rows > look for any row displaying a yellow triangle with black exclamation mark or unknown device > post images into the thread

This driver many times has failed to load:

vmulti.sys
If you no longer use it then you can completely uninstall it.

If you use it then uninstall and reinstall this driver:

vmulti.sys
