Edge.

Hi,
Yeasterday i booted the PC and my Edge browser had changed i lost my favourites bar and the the coulour scheme had changed, I had been signerd out of all my sites (i assume saved cookies were deleted) my ad-blocker had also dissappeard and several other things had changed, it took me a while to get it back to the way i prefer it which was annoying.
I noticed when visiting this site today there was an update so i assume thats what caused it, could someone tell me if this caused it and what i can do to stop it from happeneing again.

Yes i had to log in to all my usual sites again, my favourites were all there but the favourites bar had gone along with my ad-blocker and password manager icons it was if all settings had been reset to defaults.

I am not sure i may have done.

An update would not have caused that. Using something like Ccleaner would.

I do use ccleaner but have it set to save needed cookies, why would it have stopped Edge showing the favourites bar, password manager, ad-blocker and change the theme, i have used ccleaner for donkeys years and have never had this issue.

Update -

I posted this thread on 10 Sep 2023 and today on booting the PC i found its happened again there seems to have been an update as i get a list of things to go through to customise Edge with a skip option on each, i am off to chrome again its a shame as i like edge but am not going through this every time they update it or whatever the have done again.

Yes, I mean, your OS manages your browser, so if that is your choice, you gotta live with the consequences of that :)

I've been using Edge for a few years its never been a problem before and from the lack of posts in the thread it looks like i may be in a minority.
