    Update

It appears that my daily drive gives the same error but my laptop works. So by trial an error I tried shutting off

"Do not track" in Chrome. SUCCESS !!! (If not strange).

I will try and report back.

Just a thought- check your user agent string... compare an affected browser with an unaffected one:

What is my user agent? - WhatIsMyBrowser.com

E.g. your Edge example post #10

If the site behaves normally with a browser on another PC, then that suggests the site is seeing something about the request it doesn't like (but is uninformative).

Superficially the response suggests there's a problem with the site.

So the issue of not getting results at this one site with Chrome and Edge was the "Do not Track" setting. With it disabled all three browsers can get results.
Using pepanee method you can navigate instead of searching so I will call this closed and solved.
