Microsoft Edge UAC Warning When Updating Manually

I get a UAC warning when updating Microsoft Edge. I get no similar warning on my other computers which have similar specifications and installed programmes.
I am unclear as to whether this UAC message is genuine or malware to try and make me press allow.

Microsoft Edge cannot be uninstalled at least by normal means, and the microsoft site says to reinstal on top of the existing installation which I have done today.
I manually checked for updates afterwards to Microsoft Edge and I did not get the warning UAC prompt.
The test will be when an update does become available.
I wondered if other people had experienced similar.

Edge needs Admin rights to install manually. When you get it click on the "more info", and check the path. If it's goes to the correct location you are OK. I've had this happen with Firefox also when I would try to manually update/install over an existing install.

    Thanks for the reply.
I believe when I clicked on the "more info" link it points to a long number which I assume is a registry key. Also there is a certificate that can be viewed, which says its from Microsoft and looks legit. But who can be 100% of its authenticity.

When the next update to Edge is available if I get the UAC again i will include a pic in this thread.
I also use Firefox on a regular basis , never had problems with UAC with that browser.

No problem. When I got it from Firefox I noticed I didn't give it time to auto-update, and tried to force it open myself. I took a picture of it in case I needed to view it later, but if you ever get it this is what it looks like for Firefox.

Further to my earlier post where i said that I had reinstalled Edge upon itself and would see what happens regarding UAC when a new version of Edge was released.

I updated Edge today manually from 95 to 96 and did not get the UAC message, so hopefully my earlier actions cleared the problem.
