My Asus 2 in 1 notebook plays this 8k fine, although the cpu fan speeds up

New York in 8K ULTRA HD - Capital of Earth (60FPS) - YouTube

Actually it surprised me, not much point to it as the screen is not 8K.
If I plugged an 8K HDTV into the HDMI port, then it would be 8K on the HDTV screen.

Not bad. I get a bit of stuttering at 8K on full screen; 4K is okay on 4K monitor...

I am interested in if a FX6300 CPU can play 4K. And what video card would it take?
How about a Phenom B95 AMD cpu?

So far it seems older Intel boards do HD better than older AMD boards.

The FX6300 cpu board can play 1440p fine, but 4K halts. I have it paired with a GTX260 nvidia (old card)

Actually I didn't so playback quality was auto selected. I visited youtube just now and it does struggle to play 8K via a browser.

Typically I don't usually visit youtube to play videos and instead stream them using other apps.

Firefox won't handle the 8K at all! Chrome does a little better.

FYI: If I open the URL to stream via potplayer this is the highest setting that I can use without having to restart the graphics card.

    Win+Ctrl+Shift+B

    @Edwin

Thanks. I don't have Chrome so I will try Vivaldi and see what happens.

Hehe..., Firefox drops almost all frames in 8K!
    Audio's great though!

So this is the highest setting that I can use without issues in Vivaldi (Chromium)

Personally I got fed up with all the distractions on youtube so tend to use other methods. Typically freetube (Portable app) proxied via invidious. Although you could just use invidious without the app.

    documentation/Invidious-Instances.md at master . iv-org/documentation . GitHub

Then I only get two options.
