I tested with that site and it was blocked. Not sure what was happening with the other site that worked for me.

    It's the Chromium Edge.

One of the web sites that was giving me problems was - Greeting Cards & Animated Ecards | Jacquie Lawson Cards - A lot of the cards are flash based and don't work in FF, Brave or Chrome but did work in Edge. No idea why that should be.
The 'cards' play in HTML5 video player not Flash.

Greeting Cards & Animated Ecards | Jacquie Lawson Cards played fine in FF. And Edge (Fabler is correct about the HTML5).

I just checked a card on Lawson's site with Firefox and the animation worked.

Most of her cards used to be Flash but I see they're converting to HTML5 which is why I assumed it might be due to that. However, it looks like it was the Ghostery add on that was blocking the cards. I thought I had this in Edge but guess not.

The thing is that addons can interfere with these websites. So the first step is to relaunch Firefox with addons disabled ans if the website works......

Figure out which addons interfere and decide if you want to change their settings.
