Don't download that or anything else non microsoft relating to edge downloads.
Thank you for that information @Callender there is a dearth of Edge download sites, I didn't find anything MS. The best option is in the information in the link in post#5

As far as I know you cannot download and install Edge.

If unsure about downloads consider this:

Dr.Web Link Checker is a free extension for checking web pages and files downloaded from the Internet

Right click any download button or link to scan before downloading.

After downloading you can scan with something like:

    Download SigCheckGUI - MajorGeeks

    Download VirusTotal Scanner - MajorGeeks

    Download PeStudio - MajorGeeks

That's another very good alternative, @FreeBooter had posted that in post#4 Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade | Tutorials apparently that wasn't tried, or didn't work for the OP.

    Nobody knows at this time.

Another option. Download ISO using media creation tool and create an installation USB then use it to reinstall windows. It would be better to have a backup copy of your drive stored on external media plus a drivers backup beforehand.

    See download ISO to USB:

Download Windows 10 ISO File | Tutorials

Then boot from USB to reinstall windows. (Backup first)
