    HD Drive possible restore issues?

    HI!

I've been testing the possible use of Aomei Backupper.

On my laptop, my Drive 0 comprises system reserved 548mb, Main Drive C 110.66Gb & recovery partition 605mb

So far, testing of the application for backup & recovery has worked fine.

However, when I come to my main PC, that drive 0 only has drive c 118.72gb & recovery partition 528mb.

There is no system reserved partition

    Should it have?

The PC works ok & windows updates are up to date.

Although the AOmei backup works, I'm very reluctant to do a test restore.

    Can anyone advise, thanks

Running Windows 10 Pro version 22H2

    OS build 19045.4239

Great that you're using disk imaging.. which must be done periodically of course, e.g. with differential or incremental images, saved to external storage.

However, when I come to my main PC, that drive 0 only has drive c 118.72gb & recovery partition 528mb
Please advise if this is meant to be a UEFI or legacy BIOS installation (tutorial available as to how to do that in the searchable Tutorials section.

Also post a screenshot of the partitions using a 3rd party partition manager (not Disk Management). Thanks.

I have found the tutorial for you:
Check if Windows 10 is using UEFI or Legacy BIOS

I dont understand the difference between UEFI or legacy BIOS
You can ask Google: I did this for you:
What is the difference between legacy BIOS and UEFI

Here's one answer I found for you:
UEFI vs BIOS – What’re the Differences and Which One Is Better - MiniTool Partition Wizard

Now- to post useful meaningful screenshot - if you don't know how to do that there's a tutorial in the searchable Tutorials section.

So --- go to the top... click Tutorials - and search.. it's a fantastic resource.

Your picture is not readable or clear.

Now I asked for one using a 3rd party partition manager - e.g. here's mine with
    Minitool Partition Wizard
(use Google to find that- grab a copy- free)

    - like that.
Do you see how different that is to yours, and how there's a lot more info?

    Thanks

So are you saying that Aomei Backupper will restore Disk 0 as it is if needed?

Not that it will- but that it should.

That, after all, is the function of disk imaging programs.

If you wish, you can try restoring an image to a different disk, then put that in your PC and see if you can get it to boot.
That's a simple way of cloning a disk, and you may have to do a little more, like run Startup Repair.

I'm grateful for your advice & support.

You haven't mentioned the missing "system reserved" partition - should there be one?

    - - - Updated - - -

I would mention that I have tested Aomei on my laptop, it has Windows 10 Pro os build 19045 with legacy bios

The drive 0 does have "sytem reserved" 549Mb!!

"system reserved" partition - should there be one
    Not necessarily.

the Active partition contains the boot critical files. It can be separate partition or it can be the os partition.
