System Repair Disc will not load (ntoskrnl.exe problem)

Hi All, this is my first post on Ten Forums. My name is Don.

I am trying to figure out how to restore the System Image file that I created.
IF I don't use a System Repair Disc, and use F11 – to Access System Recovery Options, I am able to access the image file normally. But in the event of a Windows failure, I need a bootable disc that works.

On Windows Backup and Restore I created a system image file and a system repair disc.
When I use the sys repair disc, it will not load and gives the error message below.
I have tried: SFC, chkdsk /r, and memory scan. Also used both a CD and a Usb System repair disc. Both created on the same computer.

Curious. It is possibly due to damaged winre file, or missing path in the bcd store.

first check the recovery sequance is set up

    admin cmd prompt type:
    reagentc /info

if that is ok, then you could test winre at admin cmd prompt type
    reagentc /boottore
    (then press enter)

restart and it should boot up winre.wim

Donz - You do realise that MS told us to stop using that utility about six years ago?

imaging deprecated in Ver 1709 - TenForums

Some people, such as SIW2, have no problems with it but many people found it unreliable even before the MS announcement.

Many people use Macrium's Reflect for their imaging.
    I use Acronis' True image.

I also make a Windows installation USB to boot from if I need to do some repairs outside of Windows itself. It is my system repair disk. In fact, it has all the facilities that the System repair disk has & more.

A Windows installation USB is also able to initiate restoration of Windows system images made the way you made yours.
So, if you cannot fix that System repair disk problem yet still want to use the MS utility for your imaging, make yourself a Windows installation USB instead.

    Oh, and welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

    Thank You All,

My problem is solved with Windows installation USB to boot from. It works fine to take me to my System Image files.
Also I think that I will transition to Macrium Reflect for their imaging.

Thanks again for all the help,
    Don
