Note: you should make sure your disk is ok if you can.
(I.e. what happened to cause a disastrous crash?)

And of course, if you have a suitable disk image, you can restore that, noting your other recent thread.

You could boot from your Win 10 install disk to a command prompt and try this:

Or you could boot from a live boot disk and use the facilities on that to check the disk e.g. Crystal Diskinfo

Or you could put the drive in a caddy of some sort and check it on another PC...

Or you could hope Win 10 installs and then check the disk (Hard Disk Sentinel, Crystal Diskinfo)

*** remember that as per tutorial when you clean install Win 10 you must delete all partitions comprising the old O/S
and install to unallocated space.

** Recommended - only have the system disk in place when you do the clean install.

Unsure what you mean.
Downloading an iso file to a USB disk simply means you are storing the iso file on the disk. It's not a bootable disk at all.

The media creation tool can be used to directly create a bootable disk- if you choose the right option.

and read around that, you have all the options you need to create one appropriate to your PC.

For example, if the Win 7 machine is 32 bits and Portuguese, you probably don't want that. So you untick the recommended option and select the options appropriate to you - e.g. 64 bits and whatever language you prefer.

Simple logic, really.

Run the tool under Win 7 with the intended boot disk plugged in.

Once you have created the bootable install disk, you remove it from the Win 7 PC, stick it in yours, and boot from it.
