The current v8.0.7167 version is the last planned feature, compatibility or bug fix update.
Its final security patch will be on 1st January 2024.
The info is shown in its update dialog [see above] & at Macrium Reflect Free Product - End Of Life

    What a shame,
    Denis

This is advance warning prior to the release of Macrium Reflect 9.

I cannot see any mention whether there will be a Macrium Reflect 9 Free version.

well i suppose i'd better reinstall Macrium Reflect 8 after my clean install a while ago.

i managed to get Macrium Reflect 8 with a license on giveawayoftheday a while back with no updates beyond 8 so thats better than nothing.

    thoughts.....

    cheers

It has probably already been posted somewhere on this forum, but for anyone thinking of purchasing Reflect, then now is as good a time as any with the 50% discount. I don't recall ever seeing any bigger discount for Reflect than that.

50% Off Macrium Reflect | Black Friday

Offer ends on December 01, 2022.

I finally gave in and bought the 4-pack license.. it's a great program and I like the way it does a CRC check on the disk being imaged.

The licensed version adds Image Guardian, and restores should be faster (not that I've done one of those for years...), plus full access to the forum.

One deficiency I found: after applying the license, and then trying to enable Image Guardian, was that there was a warning (with tiny rectangular dismiss box that seemed distorted- I'd have expected an x, or cancel... saying the driver hadn't been loaded and I needed to restart. I did. Same thing.

The warning also said I might have to reinstall MR.

I tried 'modify' and 'repair' but the msi file required was nowhere on my PC, presumably because I'd been accepting the patches.

I had to download Macrium R and install it over my existing installation.

I suppose the obvious question now is........ what's the best free alternative to Reflect?
I have always used it very successfully so never looked into anything else.

It won't just stop working... it's just going EOL (End Of Life) in preparation for the release of Macrium Reflect 9.

In the same vein, many people continue to use Office 2010, and even Office 2003, etc... even though support has long gone.

    Hope this helps...
