And there is so much garbage on a pre-built computer, you may want to do a clean install on the SSD anyway.

Let's first gauge the technical level of the OP and find out how long he has the system.
Yes, you can do cloning but the OP mentions a physical disability which could be significantly challenging.

    I have some ideas:

For example, Dell can FedEx him a fully imaged NVMe SSD that could be put in by a service tech, after wiping the one that came with it.
Then the HDD can be formatted for NTFS and the BIOS set to boot form the SSD.

That's why I wrote "for future reference". Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it at this point.

If "Quadzilla" has physical limitations, technical expertise might be best used to watch the tech doing the fix.

    I know Dell pretty well.

If you buy it as a Small Business System (USA Small Business) the crap is not on the computer and you can get a USA based Pro Support 4 year warranty with USA 24x7 Technical Support.
Next Day onsite repair, too. It's a good deal! And you don't have to return a defective storage device.

Speak with an SMB Rep. Just make up a fictitious company name. They don't care. Pay the Sales Tax.

Never buy a computer from Amazon, IMHO.

Sales tax? Amazon charges sales tax now. They have for some time. Like all the major online retailers.

What is your reason to not buy a computer from Amazon? They are an authorized Dell dealer. This isn't a rhetorical question.

I suppose that you may not want to buy anything from Amazon. Their reputation for business practices isn't great.

On the other hand, Dell used to be one of the most ruthless companies in the PC business, although I don't think their employees suffered like Amazon warehouse workers.

Hi all, first of all, thanks again for the replies, you've all been very helpful. I did buy the PC directly from Amazon, not the marketplace, so it should be backed by Dell as if I bought directly from them. Unfortunately, I'm also dealing with a broken cell phone which I'm trying to replace ASAP. I'll try calling Dell directly tomorrow or Tuesday about getting a replacement SSD loaded with Windows 10. I've purchased two (maybe three) refurbished PCs directly from them over the years so hopefully that will help a little with their support, hope so anyway , LOL.

I'm wondering, since I'm only cloning the hard drive, I'm assuming they're little or no risk of screwing up any of the files on the hard drive? I understand if there were problems with the install on the SSD but I just don't want to mess up the original install on the HD. One of the videos I saw on the subject walked the user through making a backup disk. Anyway, I'll post back here after I talk to Dell, thanks again!

    Hi again!

Just take off all of your personal data and put it on a USB Flash Drive. This includes email and the like.

Then call Dell with your Service Tag number. Ask them to walk you through the setup to install Windows 10 to the SSD and have it boot from there.
Once the SSD is fully installed with the OS, It is a simple procedure to format the HDD for any other use.

If a tech could come to your location, so much the better!

    Take care.

Nice. However, I wouldn't suggest it at this time for the OP.

Looks like I have to clone after all :-(

    Hi All,
So, it looks like I screwed up big time when I purchased this PC, I bought it from a Marketplace seller, not from Dell. I was shopping in the Dell Outlets webpage first and then switched over to Amazon when I saw some of the deals they had. The link to visit the Dell store was at the bottom of the PCs main text so I figured I was buying directly from Dell based on that. I was in a hurry to purchase a new pc and just didn't do enough research, so my bad.

Made for an interesting call to Dell support, they told me the reason the SSD doesn't have Windows 10 loaded is because there was no SSD drive sold with that PC, they also had a purchase date of back in January instead of 4/23 when I bought it. Figured their records were screwed up and wasn't until I contacted Amazon that I found out about the marketplace seller. Didn't get in touch with them in time and so I couldn't get the SSD drive replaced.

So, looks like I'm going to have to clone the hard drive to the SSD drive. I'm no expert when it comes to PC'S, I think I mentioned before I'm an intermediate at best. But with the way I've been feeling due to a lack of sleep and medications, I'd better go along with the safest, easiest cloning procedures out there. Can someone please tell me which one that is? Thanks again!
