How Can I restore my computer back to factory new condition?

Hi! How can I restore my computer back to factory new condition? Only F2 and F12 keys work. I only have 2 programs listed in my programs in the COntrol panel.I tried downloading windows 10 system from Microsoft site - downloaded it to a 16 GB flash drive and then put it into my computer (not this one) to try to fix it. It did nothing - it looks like. Things still look the same. And it's impossible to get online. Though I clicked to turn on Network discovery. I can't find a single network mentioned on my computer.

If the keyboard proves to be dead- hardware problems- then restoring
my computer back to factory new condition?
    might require replacing it.

When you boot from your Win 10 install medium (can you?), or if you boot to BIOS do all the keys work then?

How did you create the disk? Did you use the MS media creation tool?

I tried downloading windows 10 system from Microsoft site - downloaded it to a 16 GB flash drive and then put it into my computer
I now wonder if you were able to
    a. boot from that disk (was it correctly created as a bootable disk?)
    and
    b. did you follow a clean install procedure like this?
    Clean Install Windows 10
    - did you see those screens?

Lots of very basic unknowns here.

    Hi.

Have you got your personal data backed up or is there any data you need to keep. If so respond and we can address that.

Otherwise you can follow this tutorial to clean install windows.

    Clean Install Windows 10

Once you have media created you boot from the USB thumbdrive. Different machines have different boot keys. Once you tell us your make we can further assist.

Most machines come with a factory reset process. Again knowing your machine will assist.

How Can I restore my computer back to factory new condition?

See prior thread; this machine apparently started out with Windows 7 and the restore partition may be gone.

Good to know. If still present and working we would not want to go back to Win 7. Thanks.

No success yet, so I'm now trying out creating a recovery drive

Hi! I still had no success with my efforts to download Windows system 10. So I decided to try out creating a recovery drive, instead, as there is an option for that in the Control panel. I recently started the process of creating it - it takes a long time, I see.

My system information has said - I noticed earlier today - that I have windows system 10. But it must be damaged, since I only have 2 programs listed on my computer , under Programs, in the control panel. So since my effort to re-install windows 7 failed - I figured I might as well try out creating a recovery drive, as I sad.

    Please see
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

Use the Media Creation tool to directly create a bootable flash drive - from the above:

If this fails, post a screenshot showing what's going on.

Do you have a particularly feeble or restricted internet connection?

    Thanks.

I will plan to try out your method of installing windows 10 system to my computer, after I finish the recovery process I've started in the computer, which may take several hours, I think. Thanks for your help!

Were you able to create the Recovery drive successfully? In my case a 16GB pendrive was insufficient and I had to use a 32GB pendrive. Let us know whether you were able to reinstall the OS using the recovery drive.

Yes, I was able to do so. The problem is fixed, now!

I finally got the problem fixed. I forgot just how. But maybe it's this: After having created the recovery drive from my computer's Control panel option for that - I got it to open up by pressing F8, which wouldn't open formerly. Maybe the flash drive enabled it to open. The problem is fixed now. Thanks for your efforts!

No I don't think so. The problem is fixed now. Thanks for your efforts!

Yes, I know they differ. I finally found advice online that said to press the F8 key, after having created the Restore drive. The F8 key hadn't formerly worked, but this time it did. Maybe something on the flash drive enabled it to work. The problem is fixed now. Thanks for your efforts!

Yes, I backed up the most important things. And I fixed my computer with a Restore drive, finally. So the problem is fixed. Thanks for your efforts!
