What is your favorite disk imaging/backup software for Windows 10?

    Hello everybody,

please tell me, what is your preferred imaging software to backup individual devices in the private environment?
No databases, exchange or similar just a typical private PC.

Small, fast, reliable, differential backups would be nice, live (from the running Windows), well customizable - backup scheme, log files, schedule or when shutting down ... the usual things.

The most common use case will be: Backup with or before shutdown to an external hard drive.
Restore individual files or completely on the same device using Win RE/PE or, if necessary, a own rescue medium.

I now pinch my experiences with one or the other tool - just to see what suggestions may come up.

    Many thanks,
    greetings

Perhaps a combination of disk imaging (e.g. Macrium Reflect) and file synchronisation of faster changing critical data files.

    Some ideas mentioned here:
    simple backup program
Recommended backup plan, use google drive for file history?
    Best Backup software for 2020
    Backup data folders

    Hello!
I'm using Macrium Reflect Free for years. This software has never failed me! It's fast, it compresses on the fly and a full backup of my C drive to a connected USB SSD takes about 3 minutes. A full restore is about 10-15 minutes.

My C drive is currently using 28 GB and the backup is about 20 GB.

Same here and I've had the FREE version on my 6 computers for years with NO problems.

Do use Macrium Reflect. Do not use poorly engineered and supported Acronis backup software. It's also worth turning on file history but it can be unreliable.

Set Reflect to do scheduled backups to a permanently connected internal or external drive and also do manual backups to a removable drive stored separately from the PC. Check the image is bootable using the viBoot feature and ensure you have an up to date Reflect USB recovery drive and boot menu recovery option.

    EaseUS Home Backup works well.
I moved to it when I grew tired of fighting with Acronis.

AOMEI BackUpper has always been my imaging program of choice. A nice simple easy to use interface and it does what it says on the tin!
