    Bootable USB image backup software search

    Am using Acronis TI 2020 and use its feature to create a bootable USB image backup. But I have issues with Acronis -like always running and doing things I didn't ask it to do. So am looking for another software product that will also create bootable image USBs, so I don't have to boot from a rescue drive first. Any suggestions appreciated. Win version 1909

    Macrium has a bootable rescue and backup images.
    It is widely used in Ten Forums and has free and pay versions.

    I would have recommended Macrium too but it appears the OP wants an image you can boot and install in one go.

    If you boot from a USB with Image connected (external drive) I'm not sure there is much difference but OP wants a bootable image.

    I consider Acronis software is poorly engineered and support. Macrium Reflect is excellent by comparison.

    I am not aware of any Backup Software that allows you to "Boot" a Backup Image...
    Most allow you to create "Bootable Media" where you can "Access" a Backup Image in case of Host failure...

    viBoot enables you to boot into the images you have made using Macrium Reflect {Windows 10 Home cannot use this facility}

    Macrium viBoot

    You can manually create a bootable UFD and save an image in it. First create a boot UFD, then reduce the size of the FAT32 partition, leaving unallocated space in the UFD. In this space create an NTFS partition, and in this partition you can copy or create an image.

    There can be some issues if the size of the UFD is more than 32 GB, due to the fact that Windows does not like 32+GB FAT32 partitions, but they should be solvable. If the computer boots from an NTFS partition, no FAT32 partition is needed and this problem does not exist.
